What truck gets the BEST gas mileage?

I'm getting a truck soon, and I want to know which one has the BEST gas mileage. Please help me. I heard Toyotas are the best on gas mileage, and I have also heard that mini trucks are the best on gas mileage. But I've also heard that big trucks are the best on gas mileage. I'm a girl who comes from a family of Vehicle lovers, but I dont know one thing really about vehicles, All I know is that I want a truck that's good on gas mileage and will hold up. I dont want it for anything special. Just driving back and fowarth to school and work and wherever else I want to go. But school and work is all the places I ever go though. the toyotas are pretty much the best out of the trucks on gas 4runners highlanders and the like generally get atleast 2-4mpg more than there competitors. and they are extremely reliable. have done much research and I am currently looking into getting a 4runner myself. (no BIG truck gets good gas mileage its a myth)

Sometimes its not about hte mileage when it comes to trucks. I have a ford 250 4x4 that gets crappy mpgs but I can get thru andy mud hole I can find

I have a 04 silverado 1500. In town i average 16.5mpg, and highway i get 18.5mpg.
