How vulnerable our personal information is.....and how gov't seems to be getting more and more power.

That things are no longer seen in societal terms

We look at all things as the self serving individuals that some corporate entity's profit from ....

We as a group are no longer a group we are isolated one from another divided into various political religous racial and other divisions

The poor emulate the rich the rich control - The media tells people their opinions and does not actually report them as they happen

People have become dependant on their masters for those opinions

Through isolation and control of all information the first means of either a cult or other mind control experiment has taken place

We need to be connected - The media has stepped in offering group a or group b

The weak and the unpopular are never to be heard from - When we were small villages we did hear them - We even heard them when we were large cities - But now we only hear what the corporate masters who own TV want us to hear - These subjects - those presented to us form our thoughts our opinions and our arguments

We are no longer a society but a bunch of isolated people divided into ready made groups -

The fact that it doesn't exist in a genteel way now...social mores are snubbed, forgotten, not adhered to...and we gripe about young people and their weird ways...when did we loose our grip on manners and tradition?????

The declining intelligence of the sheople, who call tripe poetry and who decry the decline of civility when they are the least civil of all.  Thankfully, some of them are moving to Mars...'tis said the standards are lower there.

Subversion of the constitution, of political standards and of 'liberal values'.

The UK is defined as a 'liberal democracy' and it is something we should be proud of.  Liberalism is moderation it sits between right and left and equates to freedom and tolerance - it is not some left wing plot as many US politicians cynically portray it, but a representation of the rule of law and our higher values.

Having read The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, the thing that alarms me most are the amazing similarities in what is happening to our legal and political system now and what happened to 1930's Germany... the old formula is being rolled out once more, more subtly this time by smiling men in nice suits.

I think the one thing that disturbs me the most is how everyone judge's way too fast, why can't people just step back and listen to other peoples opinions. If you take a chance to listen usually the other person makes great points. You may not agree with everything they say but you MIGHT agree with something. So let people talk and listen to them, it might actually help your point too.

the fact that abortions are legal in some places and that some people see abortions as birth control and think nothing of it. a friend is about to get one- and its really been disturbing me, especially since the thought of its not bothering her.

The hate that some people have inside themselves, and that they feel

that they can pass it on to others. If they could only like themselves then they would have the ability to like others. I have seen so much hate on this poetry site. I`m not a poet but I love to read poetry. It used to be beautiful, and now it`s not.Just my opinion.

The way that the whole concept of society is under attack from extremists like the U.S.  government and their media machine. Socialism is a dirty word in the U.S. to the point where nobody even knows what it means. The idea that we should give any consideration to the well being of the society that we live in is Anti American. Totalitarian ideologies fear socialism because it brings people together where they are strong rather than isolating them so they are weak. Reagan instigated a bloodbath across South America to remove democratically elected socialist governments and resurrect American imposed dictatorships because of the bad example that they set to other nations. America hates society as a fundamental concept. America is about self self self.

Our indifference about children.  We don't seem to care what kind of planet or economy we're leaving for them :(

Primarily the fear that has slowly caught up and almost destroyed the American "can do" spirit.

Fear of personal responsibility, and the fear that Liberal-Type Personality Types seem driven to yoke everyone to - making  them feel safer because others are  forced to do what they think caused them harm.  Forcing people to wear helmets to ride bicycles when there is no prohibition against anyone wearing them if they want to.

Seatbealts likewise.  Now in Vancourver, WA all children riding anything with wheels must wear a helmet.

Back to the closets with them....
