  1. Florence and Rome, definitely. I would recommend spending the most time in Rome, just because there is a never ending amount of things to do.

Be sure to check out the Vatican Museum (includes the Sistine Chapel). The hall of tapestries is my favorite. You could spend days in the museum alone, there is just so much to see. Also visit St. Peter's Square, the Coleseum and the Roman Forum ruins. Taking a double-decker bus tour after the sun has gone down is also a lot of fun. It gives you a chance to check out the city.

Venice is equally amazing, I actually prefer it to Florence, but it is distant from both Rome and Florence and you would waste a lot of time just getting there.

Milan is not worth visiting unless you want to shop and/or visit the Duomo.

  2. i would go to Milan and Rome.

  3. I read you're 21 and I assume you'll travel alone.

Then if I were you I would pick definitely Rome (4-5 days) and Florence (2-3 days). I would save Venice to a next trip when you'll be with yr bf or for a romantic honey moon with yr husband...!!Venice cannot be visited being alone !!

Also it's rather small (1 days it's enough for a general view of top sites) and it's pretty far from Rome (7 hours train) while Florence is nor 2 hours train from Rome.

Disregard Milan; it's 10 times less interesting than the 3 above named towns.

  4. Okay first of all, I strongly disagree with the gentleman who said that Venice is not some place to go alone! I went alone, by choice, and absolutely LOVED it! It is a magical place, so I would say that it is definitely not to be missed. And don't wait. We never know when it may sink. As for the other choice, you decide based on your personality. Florence is smaller, easier to walk to everything. Rome is a much busier city. There is no question that both are worth a visit, but since you only have a week, why not stay in the North and do Roma another time as you will want to go to the Vatican, etc. when there!

  5. Rome is definitely the most interesting...I have been there twice and still would go back and see stuff I missed the first two times, you could also do Florence it's close enough to take a train spend one night and go back to Rome. You can see all the major stuff in Florence in one day...

  6. I would say that a week is not enough for Rome, there are so many beauties to see, so.... But, if you want go 2-3 days in Florence too. Enjoy your trip !

  7. Well, you dhould visit Venice and Roma.
