  1. The more direct angle of the sun would be the main reason.  Everything else is kind of a result of the sun angle...so I'm not sure what the other would be.  Perhaps position of the jet stream?


  2. As far as Southern hemisphere is concerned,we can cite two reasons.(1) the angle of incidence of sun's rays,being less and (2) The position of the earth,being nearer to the sun(perigee position)) in its elliptical orbit during summer.

    During Northern hemisphere,the angle of incidence(which is less) is the only reason for the rise of temperature.During summer in the Northern hemisphere, the earth is far away(apogee position) from the sun in its elliptical orbit.Otherwise summer in the Northern hemisphere would have been more hotter.
