Back Story (you might need to know some of this): About 4 or 5 years ago my mom was rushed to the ER for low blood pressure due to a lot of knowledgeable things. They ran multiple test and found that she had a severe blockage in her intestines. Well they did surgery and removed 60% of her intestines & 1 whole ovary; 1/2 ovary. They told her to stay away from stress. She also has had Crohn's Disease her whole life. Well needless to say the blockage is back (which they told her there was a chance that it could happen). She's also had severe pains in her stomach. Well I'm taking her to the doctor's and paying for it (my parents don't have health insurance && sadly are struggling financially right now). But I don't know what kind of a doctor to take her to. I don't want to waste money on a dr. just to have him tell me to go to another doctor.

My question is: What type of doctor should I take her to?

I appreciate all the help I can get

  1. Most likely will need to evaluated by a gastroenterologist; who will perform some tests and then refer her to a surgeon.

Sorry to hear of this difficult time.  Your parents are lucky to have you.

  2. Doc, how about  being a good samaritan right now, hook her up. Just my $.02 :)
