Question:

What type of Ebay feedback to leave?

Hi, I have a dilema. I bought a vacuum filter from a seller and when I received it, it reeked of cigarette smoke, which I am allergic to. This particular item was a type of filter which would definitely stink up my whole house. I sent a message to the seller letting them know about the problem. I did not receive any kind of message back from the seller, but I did get and e-mail from Paypal saying that I had a refund and it was from the seller. I don't know what kind of feedback to leave because the seller did return my money, however there was no communication and I am also concerned that other people will buy this item from the seller (he sells alot of these) and have the same problem. I feel a responsibility to warn others, but don't want to leave bad feedback if it is no warranted. What should I do? Thanks!

  1. You could leave a neutral & comment on the smoke smell but the fact you did get a prompt refund; then when it expands you can be more precise as to "not as described" and 'poor communication" is one option to star as well.

  2. Leave the feedback you feel is just, good or bad, but in either case note your problem. As always buyer beware, and at least you warned them.

  3. Leave a neutral (instead of a negative) with your honest comments.   The seller cannot leave you a retalitory negative anymore--they've changed the rules.

Neutral is the new Negative on ebay, so potential customers will know what you mean, and this way, it doesn't lower his feedback score.
