Hi I am getttting my son clubs for his 11th birthday. He is 5ft 5 inches tall already, so this is my question. Do I get an inexpensive adult set of clubs or buy a set that he will probably of out grown by next summer. And what are good sets that are around 400.00

  1. get him adult clubs i got mine when i was 5 6 and they are perfect now at 5'10" the first year they will be too big, but it would be a waste of money to get a kids set for one year then get adults .

    some clubs i really like

    cleveland hibore driver

    hibore 3 wood

    hibore hybrids

    cobra s9 irons

srixon wedges or cleveland zip grooves

never compromise or odysey 2-ball putter

this adds up to more than 400 but clubs will last for years it will cost about 600-800 but will totally be worth it

    GOOD LUCK

  2. First thing is does he play already because if he doesn't get lessons for him first. But if anything get a good used set take him to golfsmith or a place that sells used clubs and just have him choose whatever he likes that he is hitting well with that is also in your price range because you really cant just buy a set of clubs for someone they have to try them out and see if it suits them. Its kind of like buying a pair of shoes.

  3. Your 11 year old son has to get Junior club fitting for the club length because for a kid he's too tall, but for an adult he's too short.  If he is just starting to learn golf, I just recommend to buy just a 7 iron (some store sell individual club for kids).  If you plan to get a Junior set, you won't get a full set, it's only a driver, a 5 wood, 5 iron, 7 iron, 9 iron and a putter.

  4. get hime fitted best cheap set of adult
