What type of Pedals I should use?

I am a current Shimano pedal owner (SPD-SL), and I notice that most of Shimano's pedal covers will wear out. I fequuently buy a new set of covers to protect the pedals.

Do any of you guys know any other pedals that don't need pedal covers to be replaced?

Keo? Look? Forte'? And will they last long?

I'm asking someone who is a past or current consumer. Of any of those products.

  1. I have Time pedals. I only replace the cleats every year and a half, or so. I'm looking into keo for next year..

  2. Hey there!

I cycle too and for my road bike i use Speedplay X2. These have lasted me for more than a year so far and I am still using them. I've gone through many triathlons with them and i dont use covers. The pedals are not bulky at all and they are low profile and pretty light. The cleats are also great because they give you around 15 degrees of float so your knees never feel like they are locked. The exit and entry is almost effortless. Both the pedals and cleats get scratched but on the pedals its hardly noticeable and the mechanism is never affected. I would surely check these out if i were you.

I hope I helped and keep cycling!
