Question:

What type of Restaurant in Pattaya?

Hi everybody, I was thinking of opening up a new restaurant in Pattaya. This is something I am toying around with, not finalized anything yet. A nice place, not too big, with drinks and music.

I was wondering if Pattaya is the right place to open a restaurant (Meant for the tourists of course) to have a good number of clientele. I understand Bangkok is pretty expensive to open up a mid-level restaurant. Also, I was looking for some suggestions as to what type of food might be a hit.

So what do y'all think?

  1. Pattaya is the right place to open a restaurant if you want to cater to Europeans.  I personally don't like the place, it's overun with Westerners looking for some action and Thai prostitutes.  I don't think a classy restaurant would do very well there, but you could certainly try.  If I were you, I'd open a restaurant somewhere else, like Krabi, Koh Chang or Phuket.

  2. If you consider serving Skol, Heineken or other beer with finger food/munchies as a "restaurant" it's a great idea.
