What type of Ritual is it, when you line up dead birds....?

Question

There were 5 or 6 dead birds all facing the same direction all in a circle touching each other, and something, not sure if it was a dead bird or not, right in the middle of them? We found them in an abandonded house, they were skeletons left, and they just didn't die there, someone or something put them there, it was too neat to be accidental, anyone know what kind of ritual this would have been?

(1) The bodies had decomposed to skeletons?  It's possible that the birds were babies, all huddled in a nest in the rafters, which was suddenly dislodged, causing them to fall to their deaths.  The nest could have disintegrated and blown away, but the skeletons would be heavier and would have stayed.  That would explain the circular shape (depending on the size of the circle).

(2) Cats are in the habit of killing birds and dragging them around; maybe there was a cat which liked that particular place, and the arrangement beyond just a heap of seven dead birds was somewhat accidental.

(3) What were you doing poking around an abandoned house?
