Is LCD better or should i go for a Plasma. Specific product names would be a great help. The TV would be used just for my PS3 and Xbox 360.

  1. Yeah go with LCD. I have a 32'' Vizio (VX32L) and it's a great tv. I use it with my Xbox 360 and my PS3 and the picture is great. It has 1080i native resolution so it;'s not the best picture but it's still pretty darn good. Especially seeing as how I only paid $700 for it. (which is an excellent value for an HDTV of that size) and it has all the connections you want: 2 HDMI, 2 component, 3 composite, 1 S-video, and it even has a VGA connection for using it as a computer monitor. And this is a common miss-conception, VIZIO IS NOT A  WAL-MART BRAND! They are an independent company based in California and were the #1 seller in LCDs in north America last year. But if you don't want Vizio, then just go with something like Sony, Samsung, or Panasonic.

  2. Plasma has better contrast ratios, but are subject to burn-in (dangerous with games because of HUDs and other indicators).  You should get an LCD with a good response time (8ms or less).

Basically any LCD that you've heard of before.  Samsung, Sony, and the like.  You kind of get what you pay for in the world of electronics, so if you go with the Radioshack "Scott" brand, which is a rebranded Akai, which is a rebranded something, you won't be quite sure of what's really inside.

  3. A LCD is better mostly because when you pause a game for whatever reason, the picture is burned into a plasma in a relatively short time. LCD never burn. there are other things but they are so small, like reaction time on a plasma is 1/100 of a second slower then an LCD, but really that is nothing.

The sony bravia is the best LCD for gaming, this is because it was made by the maker of the ps3 and was made to match with it perfectly. It will also work well with a 360

oh and i read about what the other guy said about vizio, and he is so right, those tvs are good, they are by far, and i mean by far, the biggest bang for your buck, Sonys, samsungs, etc. are better, but they will reach deep into your pockets.
