What type of Video Camra should I buy?

I want to take videos of my friends and I want it to have fairly decent zoom and good quality. Not a fish lense or anything like that but should I get a HD a mini DV or what?

hd cameras are still alot of money, and theres not a ton of ones to pic from yet. id hold off a few years till the prices come down and theres more models out. a hard drive camera is nice cause you dont have to mess with always buying bland dvds or dv tapes. this is a really nice one....

also if your not going to take hours and hours of movies you can save money by getting a flash drive camcorder. it records onto a sdhc card which you can get a 2 pack of 4gb cards for $50 at best buy. heres a good flash camcorder...

either way you can just upload the movie files onto your computer and edit them and make a dvd to burn.

if you dont choose either the best camcorders on the market right now are panasonic and canon. good luck!
