What type of Violin would be good for a highschooler?

I need a Violin for my strings class but I don't know what brand or type or anything! Help?? PLEASE?

  2. Well, it depends on how good of a violin you need. If you only plan on taking the class, I suggest you rent a violin from any nearby music store. Just remember to choose one with reasonably good tone, and don't forget the rosin and bow either. For the bow I suggest renting either a wooden or carbon fiber bow (fiberglass ones are for younger students who break them all too often). Any rosin will pretty much work, but you should probably ask your teacher.  

  3. There aren't brands or anything for violins, but go to your local violin shop and ask for a nice full-size student violin. The owner or employee should be able to help you out in choosing a bow and rosin (Goldflex is best.) Also, your violin should sound melodic and mellow, not metallic. Good luck =]

  4. Well I have a glaesel but a yamaha is a good brand too. you would probaly need a full violin or a 4/4. Hopes this helps.
