I have 2 subs they are Rockford Fosgate Punch XLC 10" Subwoofer Model # RFP2810.

Heres ever thing about them.

# Impedance 8 ohms

# Peak Power 400 Watts

# Sensitivity 87dB

# FS (Hz) 32

# Voice Coil Diameter (inches) 2.0

# Mounting Depth (inches) 4-1/2

They are in differnet boxs so i know it has to have 2 channels

And It needs to be a amp they will cost me under $200

Also how do you figure watts on a channel amp

is like a 600 watt amp puts out 300 watts in each sub ?

  1. Those subs have an RMS rating of 200 watts. The peak rating is pretty much useless.

You would need to find a mono amp that is 200 to 400 watts at 4 ohms and wire the subs in parallel to a 4 ohm final load.

    This one would work. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/...

  2. The one important thing that's missing is the RMS watts. When talking power handling, the RMS watts is what you need to go by, not PEAK.

PEAK or MAX watts simply means what the sub can handle for a split second before failure begins. Since you listen longer than a splt second, those values are useless.

Add up the RMS watts of both subs and find a mono amp that matches @ 4 ohm and wire the subs in parallel. Just because they're in seperate boxes doesn't mean you have to use a 2-channel amp.

  3. depends on how the amp is configured you want to give each sub around 150-200 watts RMS at 8 ohms
