  1. Large animal vets care for horses. They also care for cattle. Sadly, a lot of large animal vets are employed at dairy farms.

  2. All forms of livestock - cattle, sheep, swine, goats and occasionally horses.  Primarily equine vets work on horses though - it is it's own specialty.  Large animal generalists often don't do horses for that reason.

Aleasha - why is that sadly?  You don't want food animals to have adequate vet care or protect the human food supply?  I'm surprised this isn't an important concern for you in your profession.

  3. You know, cows, pigs, horses, sheep, occasionally more exotic animals like llamas and alpacas. You may get a cat or dog from time to time, but mostly your typical farm animals.

  4. Large animal veterinary services

Horses, cattle, sheep, goats, and llamas; stallion services, ambulatory veterinarian services, haul-in services – large animal vet tech work is physically demanding. Whether you work with equine or production animals, you will be expected, day or night, to go out in the cold of winter and in the heat of summer on farm calls. And, it can be messy!

  5. Horses, cows, pigs, pretty much anything larger than a dog...

  6. Cows and horses mostly. Possibly llamas and alpacas since they're popular these days. But those may actually fall under exotic veterinary animals.

  7. When I worked with vets in upstate NY, they were considered a mixed animal practice....which means that they worked with the traditional companion animals of dogs, cats, occasional ferret, reptiles and bird.  But also worked with cows, horses, pigs, llamas, emu, ostrich, ect..just about anything you could keep....if they didn't feel qualified they sent you to one of the vet colleges either Cornell or University of Montreal in Canada.  I think large animal vets also do work in the Zoo setting, and would be considered large animal and exotic vet.
