As a child Bruce Wayne was actually afraid of bats.  This fear has been touched on briefly in the current Batman lure.  Bruce Wayne does not seem to have any fears of creatures in his adult years.

Into adulthood however Bruce becomes a man devoid of fear and, to a degree, Bruce himself becomes the mask as Batman becomes the dominate figure.
