What type of aviation fuel do U.S. military aircraft use?

Do all the aircraft in the U.S. inventory use the same grade of fuel? Is it the same type of fuel used in commercial aircraft?

  1. They used to use different types depending on where based, but have went to a common type so that all can be fueled at any place or time. No this is not the same fuel used by commercial jets. link below describing the different types and what their uses are.

  3. Same grade. Depends on what the type of aircraft. Jet fuel, Avgas etc.

    It has a anti-surfacant and anti-baterial like Prist already added.

  5. Yes, pretty much all military aircraft use JP-8. Commercial aircraft use Jet A-1 fuel. They are pretty much the same.
