  1. I have a huffy why waste money on a bucks up bike the top frame is some c**p bike I dug out of the trash, it welded rite up to my huf.

  2. I just have 2 bikes.

One is a 1970's 3 speed Gitane folder. It's not the lightest or the fastest bike going, but it a solidly built. I use at most once a week, for lugging around heavy bags of grocerys in the rear basket. It's an unique bike and people often smile in my direction as I ride past. It's a handy bike to keep in the shed.

The other is a Trek 7100fx. I got it 2nd hand from a bike shop 3 years ago. Some parts have needed to be replaced over the years due to wear, and the back wheel has had to be respoked to be made stronger. It's been upgraded with the addition of a rear rack, "thinner" tyres, bar-ends, & toe-clips. I ride it 4/5 times a week and it is my main bike. As much as I enjoy riding it, road bikes do look tempting to me, but that can wait for awhile.

Edit - I know the answer was just meant for one bike, but since both are special to me, I didn't want to leave one out.

  3. i have cheap walmart bike i found just sitting there and my other bike got stolen

but this guy gave me these old  he called it a mini dirt bike it looks kinda like a bmx bike but its met for all riders  its like mini mountain bike to me  it has a ridged fork and 5 gears  so he nnerve rode it i hav enow and it  is pretty asome i do everthing with it even trail riding  my next bike is going to be 29er or a single speed ridge dfork 26er i dont like suspension i like the cushien in the tire now

  4. I started with a Raleigh M20 MTB, put road tires on it, and rode it for three years, mostly for commuting.  Two years ago, for my distance/recreational/weekend rides, I bought a Lemond Tourmalet.  I love it!

This year, I got tired of lugging the heavy Raleigh up hills on my commute, which was made worse by being fully loaded with my work stuff.  So I just bought a 2008 Fuji Absolute 2.0, which is either a flat-handlebar road bike or a hybrid with rather skinny tires (700 x 28).  I love it much more than the old Raleigh.  Even fully loaded up, I don't hurt going up my big climbs anymore.  I ride about 70-80 miles a week for commuting purposes.

  5. I have an 2008 giant yukon. I ride it 3-5 days a week for about 70kms a week. I'm very happy with it but i'm thinking of upgrading the fork and maybe the derailleurs.

  6. 08 specialized allez

    had an 04 allez..

father-in-law has a Cannondale and a Cervelo TT bike, his wife also has an all carbon Cannondale

my wife had a Motobecane, but i sold it today...

  7. I've mentioned my bikes in a couple of post already :P.  I've got a Santa Cruz Heckler which is my xc/am/fr do-it-all mountain bike with a Manitou Minute 2:00 fork and Swinger 4-way Air rear shock, and a mostly LX build kit.  I've been thinking about a new fork for a while but I haven't made any real plans for that yet.  Very satisfied!

I also have a dirt jumper/street/park fun bike which is a totally custom Dobermann Pinscher with a Manitou Gold Label fork, and Atomlab General Issue single speed wheelset, and I plan to upgrade to a shorter stem and better bars.  Again, very satisfied!

  8. I'll admit this: I have a cheap $65 bike, because originally I bought it as cheap transportation and as a way of getting a few blocks between bustops or from a bus to wherever I ultimately wanted to go.

After buying it, though, I've really enjoyed riding it and I've actually been riding just for exercise most every day. I lost 5 pounds in the two weeks I've been riding and I feel alot better (the first day I rode, I went maybe 2 miles and I felt like I was gonna puke).

I don't really understand what exactly they do to a bike to make it worth thousands of dollars, but I would pay a few hundred for a decent bike at some point down the road.

  9. I just bought a Schwinn Tourist from Target. It's a hybrid bike, but I think it has more of a road bike with flat handle bars. I'm an entry level rider and I only use my bike for commuting for now. I plan to buy a better bike maybe next spring. I'll probably get a mountain bike sometime, not sure when. I'm thinking about getting a comfort bike that I can mount a kiddie seat so I can take my baby on rides. I don't want to put a kiddie seat on my Tourist because it's so lightweight I don't think it's ideal for a kiddie seat.

  10. I have a 2005 Specialized P1 A1 and i have a Felt Tk2 which it's the best bike i've ever ridden I like single speed bikes in general; a fixed gear is even better. Don't ask why, you just have to ride one to see why I like it so much. Fixed gears or Single Speeds are not for everyone, but it doesn't hurt to go to a shop and ask to try them out. Ask for a Track bike

  11. Lemond Etape and The new 09 Cannondale F5

    I am 66 years old.

  13. i have a giant reign 1 07 and a custom trek racing bike

  17. A Trek 7.3 FX hybrid. Great for riding around the neighborhood and downtown. Sturdy enough wheels to survive the potholes, low enough gearing to get up any hill and sporty enough to make me not feel like an old geezer. I ride it 3 to 4 times per week.

A Bianchi Via Nirone 7 road bike. This is what I ride to get out into the country to look at the farms, pigs, and cows of rural Indiana. A wonderful bike for longer rides over 3 hours with the local cycling club. Its tires get dirty 1 to 3 times per week.

Lastly there's my old faithful mid 70s technology road bike. It's in pristine condition but doesn't get ridden much anymore. But in its heyday I put thousands of miles on it riding all over the hills of southern Indiana. I even rode it from Indianapolis to Illinois and back in one day once. Its a Schwinn Prologue frame made of Tange Prestige cro-moly tubing equipped with Campy Super Record and Nuovo record components and a Brooks Team Pro saddle. I built it up myself from parts including the wheels.

I used to have a Schwinn Paramount P13 ... one of the Chicago bikes when Schwinn was still Schwinn at 1856 N. Kostner Avenue. I wish I'd never sold it <sniff> It breaks my heart to see Schwinn stickers on pieces of metal pretending to be bikes at Kmart and Wally World.
