Im looking for a single speed bike, I need one that is durable and can handle going up long steep hills like the ones in las angelos. I want to be able to get to top speeds and make short time of my trips from my house to work and to the gym which are about 6-10 miles everyday and sometimes twice a day.One that can handle the bumps, pot holes, and fall-offs, and duration of steep hills that I encounter throughout my ride.Im strictly single speed bikes because of bad experiences with geared bikes. I need one that goes fast , What would u recommend for me???

  1. The Redline Monocoq is a decent S/S bike.  Salsa also makes good stuff.   In any event, I'd get a 29'er as opposed to a 26" wheeled bike.

  2. You can turn basically any geared bike you like the looks of into a single speed...  I think that's what most singlespeeders do...  Or take a look at On One http://www.on-one-shop.co.uk/acatalog/On...
