My brother is going to get back into water sports for exercise and doing something like that makes him swim. I do not know the difference in the types of boards and he needs to doing the easiest one. Already have a boat to tow him

  1. I rather tough about surfing if so use a longboard - easier to paddle in with and stand on and most importantly perfect to the husky guy.

  2. Well I am a pretty big guy myself. 6'8" 250. I have found that it is pretty hard for a big guys to get up on a wakeboard. It is much easier to do kneeboarding. I am not saying that it is immpossible but it is very difficult. So I would have to go with a kneeboard. It all depends on how big and athletic he is.

  3. Depending on his weight, a 141 cm + wakeboard should work.  I ride a CWB Pure 141, 6'2" @ 180 lbs.  I have some friends that are much taller (6'3" - 6'6") and heavier (230 lbs +) than myself riding 141 - 143 cm boards without issue.  Hope that helps.

  4. Knee boarding is much easier to learn than wake boarding.  If he has bad knees, then it may be out of the question, but wake boarding isn't particularly good for the knees either.  Knee boarding can be done at a much slower speed than wake boarding or skiing.  Also, the falls are not near as bad on a knee board.  Something that is really fun and easy but doesn't involve a board is tubing.  it requires a lot of upper body strength and is much more tiring than one might think.
