no pics its dead- sorry.

It was about an inch and a half long, looked like a scorpion minus the tail, it had two large antenae and two eyes with an ant like jaw. It was strong ( I smashed it with a rock and it didn't phase it much until the second hit)

Its legs were like a scorpions, I live in eastern mass btw

It is a Vinegaroon or Whip scorpion. It is an arthropod related to spiders, although often being mistaken for scorpions. When threatened they release an acidic spray that smells like vinegar (hence the name) They Can't stink you like a scorpion and The only way it could harm you is if it sprayed you in your eyes. People often keep these as pets....

This is known as a Tailless Whip scorpion. These are also non venomous. They move almost like a crab, and flat to the ground.

    And OK LAST ONE!

    If you saw this...:

It is known as a Sun spider. Even though they are not spiders either, They are arachnids like scorpions and spiders though. But they have no venom, although those pincers could equal a pretty painful bite.

All 3 of these arachnids are commonly mistaken for scorpions so I wasn't quite sure which one you were talking about....

    Hope this HELPS! =)

  3. The only creatures that fit your description do not occur in Massachusetts. They occur in the desert southwest or Florida. The whipscorpion has especially long antenna but may otherwise appear just like a tailless scorpion. The windscorpion has enormous jaws and I have experienced them not dieing on the first blow.
