  1. Try a bundt. It won't fall apart as easily. Or even a sponge cake.

  2. My sons 1st birthday was in June..We had his party at the beach and we grilled out..His cake was fine..We purchased it @ Wal-Mart..It was half chocolate half white with whipped icing and it was decorated in the Elmo's World theme..I thought about the cupcakes but i went with the cake instead, i didn't know how many ppl were going to attend so i wouldn't have known how many to make or buy..Whatever you decide I am sure it will turn out great...

  3. Cookies? If you made them, you could decorate them with smiley faces.

  4. Ice cream cake!

  5. I think a bakery cake or a homemade cake would do just fine. Also, a lot of places sell "cakes" that are basically just a bunch of cupcakes that form a design. That could be a nice idea, too.

  6. funfetti is the the best cake ever

  7. I would go for cupcakes, then you could decorate them if you wanted to, or even if you're feeling brave he could "help" you, if you pour icing on them then he can go wild with spinkles etc. which he would love!

  8. For the first cake, it doesn't have to be fancy. A store bought cake is fine, but any cake can melt if it gets hot. Best way to avoid it is to stick it in the fridge until it's needed, that way it will be less likely to melt once it hits the hot air.

  9. mabey cupcake cake it looks like a cake but its yummy

  10. i do a regular cakes outdoors at the beach and also like publix and windixie give you a free baby cake with the large cake you purchase so the baby can stick his hand n it and stuff you knw for pictures

  11. Try a vanilla cake with fruit. Serve ice cream on the side. A cake is better, as there will be more photo opportunities of your son blowing out the candles on his very first birthday cake :o)

Keep your one year old away from chocolate to prevent a possible allergic reaction. You don't want him to be red around the mouth on his big day!

  12. Regualr bakery cakes are fine.

We had a BBQ for my Daughters 1st birthday

&& Everything was still great when it came time to eat.

Also, for my daughter, we bought her her own little

"Cupcake Cake" They have little decorated cupcakes @ the bakery as well.

    Hope This Helps. =]

  13. whatever is your favorite, being 1 he won't care....

  14. cupcakes are easier b/c they don't involve "serving" ev1 just gets a cupcake...if you want a cake...just keep it inside until it's time for cake and have someone help you carry it and all the fixins outside...super easy
