My daughter is turning one next month and I would like to make or purchase a cake for her that is tasty as well as beautiful for her party. We will be having guests of all ages attending. 10 children and about 15 adults. I would like for it to be appealing for all attending. Thanks in advance for any ideas you may have.

  1. you prchase this at a bakery

you get 1/2 of the cake white w/ chocolates icing

and 1/2 thats chocolate w/ white icing

    or

chocolate w/ chocolate and vanilla w/ vanilla

  2. What kind of cakes does your daughter like?  If you want to please everyone, don't go with something too exotic.  A lot of people, myself included, don't really like the super-fancy cakes with layers of fruit and crazy things.  I would go with something basic, and you can get it decorated with a fun theme.  Does your daughter have a favorite character or anything like that?  My sister made a cake once that looked like Fenway park because her kid loves the Red Sox :-)  It came out great!  Just be creative, and have fun with it!

  3. Please remember that this is your daughters birthday so she should be the princess!  Get a cake that is colorful and fun because she will want to put her hands in it and play.  AND please let her, it is her cake.  Clothes can be changed and you can get some really cute/funny pics.  I do not mean all during the party, just when she blows out her candle.  Once she has seen the cake and touched the design, cut her a piece and let her play and eat on it.  As far as a theme, it needs to be a character she likes.  I loved throwing birthday parties when my daughter was young.  Those days are long gone now.  HO HUM.

  4. Chocolate zucchini cake!

Carrot cake is always a winner for the kids.

Ice-cream cake is tasty but expensive and messy.

    Marble cake is good.

    Personal favorite is confetti cake!

  5. ice cream cake all the way!

  6. White cake with white icing is the best thing to feed your one year old. Most everyone likes wedding cake.

Food coloring can cause allergies in  young children and chocolate isn't the greatest thing for young ones either.

If you must have chocolate you can go to a bakery or grocery store that has a bakery and ask for a half sheetcake. (This is about the size of two 13X9 cakes. They can do one side white and the other chocolate.  This will cost between 20 and 40 dollars depending on where you live.

You  can bake your own if you want of course and that will be cheaper but will be considerably more time consuming.

  7. here  is a sight with instructions for making the coolest cakes I've seen yet

    http://www.coolest-birthday-cakes.com/in...

    they have 1st birthday cakes

check it out every one i shoe just raves

  8. some simple flavor like vanilla with a butter cream frosting and get it made.....maybe like a mini wedding cake and it will not cost mush maybe with some flowers and lots of colors.

  9. i think you should make vanilla cake because vanilla is the best

  10. I'd avoid chocolate at this age... stick w/ white or yellow cake and maybe that "cool-whip" kind of frosting.  how about some pretty PALE pink roses and vines all over it, for your little girl?

  11. Get or make 2 cakes - one big pretty one for the guests and one small one for her.  Then she can stick her hands in it all she wants!

  12. Buy a marble cake...its a vanilla and chocolate mix =] Pre-order it a couple of days before so u can make sure its fresh for that day.

(i usually order them from albertsons). I reccomend a strawberry filling with freach cut strawberrys.

U can get any design on the cake, its really up to ur taste.

    accompany with vanilla ice cream.

In my opinion, this is the best cake for a  party because it's not too sweet for the adults and its delicious for the kids =)

  13. I hired a cake tin of the number one for my daughters first b'day, covered it in white icing and painted teddy bears on all the sides and the name piped down the top.

Nice and easy, you don't want to be stressing about the cake just before such an important day.

Keep it simple or buy a cake.

  14. Have a simple yellow cake with buttercream frosting and get one of those thin icing sheets with her favorite picture to put on the cake.

I personally don't like ice cream on my cake, but I love fruit filling, nuts and coconut.

My sister hates fruit filling and nuts and loves ice cream and coconut on her cake.  I have come to a compromise.  I make a simple cake with simple icing.  But on the side I have fruit fillings, ice cream, fresh fruit (berries, bananas), different kinds of sauces, etc.  Everybody loves to decorate their slice of cake the way they like it.  I've found that children love this too.  They feel like they made their own dessert.  You could even take pictures of each kid with their creation for them to take home.

  15. I had cupcakes done for my son's first birthday.  I had them lettered "HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOGAN" with one letter on each cupcake, then I had a bunch of others grouped around it.  It was easy to deal with, no cake to cut, and he had a blast tearing into them.

  16. I think that you should try your local Shoppers grocery store. They make tasty cakes and offer an assortment of decorating options. A good one to try would be you daughter's favorite character with yellow cake and whipped cream icing. If you try it, let me know how you like it.

  17. 25 people? Dude you need two cakes--ice cream pie for the adults and rum cake for the kids.
