What type of camcorder do you recommend for me?

I am looking to buy a camcorder. Here is what I need:

1. I can't spend more than $500 on the camera and all necessary add-ons (such as tapes)

2. Just about everything we shoot will be edited on the computer with Windows Movie Maker. Our computer does not currently have Firewire, but my computer is fast enough to handle it.

3. The camcorder will be used for YouTube videos and also for family events. It needs to be able to handle both well. It doesn't need to be professional quality, but it needs to look better than what a cell phone can do.

What do you recommend?

Try Best Buy or Amazon.  I always check slickdeals.net before I buy anything.
