I've been looking around, I want something small and compact, under 200$, that works pretty well. I just want to video me and my friends skating :)

  1. Sony camcorders are very reliable. Here's a link to a very good camcorder on Ebay:

I have the older version of this camcorder and video quality is really great! This camcorder has 30GB hard drive. The seller has 100% positive feedback and it seems like a very good deal if you can get it under $250. Good luck!

  2. We use only mini dv tape cameras. I am still not convinced hard drive cameras will record flawless in a skate environment, with all the shake and rattles going on. Mini dv recordings are easier to edit. Flash and hard drive recorded usually use a compression ratio that makes big files, harder to edit, and skaters usually do a lot of editing. Sony make a good camera, a brand a lot of professionals use. So get on ebay and look for a sony mini dv camcorder. With hard drive cameras all the rage, someone should be giving those older mini dv tape camcorders away. If you are looking new, most manufacturers have a mini dv camera at the top and bottom of their range.
