  1. A camera is just a tool. You can take close-up's with an inexpensive camera. Just buy a close-up filter. (Like glasses for the camera).

It's the photographer who makes the image. I usually use a medium format camera, but I've take some great images with one of those throw away cameras.

  2. the guy in the first pic is taking a pic with a macro lens or even a low mm lens and the second one is taken with a fish eye lens......you will either need a 35mm camera that lets you change the lenses or a D-SLR ... i shoot with a Nikon D80 and to be honest the pics you have here are just ok....if you get yourself a good D-SLR and learn how to use it then you will be taking better pics then these......good luck and hoped this helped

  3. Totally common!  Any camera could take the first one.

And any camera could also take the second one if it had a cheap fisheye lens on it.

  4. I'm not sure about the first one, but it may be a macro lens, you can get really close up to a small object and take amazing photos like insects or the insides of flowers.  The second one looks like it may be a fish eye lens.  Usually for those the mm is small like 10-15mm, but I'm not totally sure about that.

  5. I will have to agree with the answers so far.  Any good camera will do these kinds of photos.  The second is using a fish-eye lens which is extreme wide angle or has been photo shopped to look that way.

I use 4 different generations of cameras and will say while my Nikon D40 DSLR takes good pictures my Pentax K1000 35mm film SLR takes better.  But what determines what camera I use depends on what I am taking pictures of.  I use DSLR, 35mm film SLR, medium format (120) as well as large format (4x5).

  6. its a dslr camera. nikon and canon are the best but i use nikon.

  7. The second picture looks like it was taken using a fisheye attachment on a DSLR, such as http://porters.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv...

There are prime circular fisheye lenses available (around 8mm focal length for APS-C DSLR) which would produce a picture with a more pronounced wide-angle perspective and better sharpness and contrast.

What did you find amazing about the first picture? With a little care, sharp and in focus pictures are possible with virtually any camera. The degree of defocus in the background is easier to achieve in a DSLR, but is probably possible with a superzoom compact.
