  1. any electric car, especially if you use renewable energy sources.

    eg Toyota RAV4ev, Reva, Tesla

    or convert your own http://www.batteryvehiclesociety.org.uk

  2. A hybrid of any kind.

  3. the one that uses the smallest amount of fossil fuel per mile, including fossil fuel that is used to produce the car and components, and fossil fuel that is used to produce the non fossil fuel that car is using, if that car has some unconventional power source.

  4. The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore made a pedal powered car with the full production technology developed. Meant for the short haul.

Runs on sandwich and coke. No emissions (so long as sandwiches are limited)

  5. Darn! You had to add that final wrinkle "already on the market".

The best things available, as stated above, are the hybrids. Best of all are the PHEV's (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles) as they can be recharged using a non-polluting or less-polluting electricity source.

As for what will be absolutely the BEST in the long-run, I'm liking the specter of DCFC's - Direct Carbon Fuel Cells - because, in the process of carbonization of biomass, some of the carbon produced can't be used as fuel and will be plowed into the sandy regions of the world.

The benefit? All that biomass just pulled mega-tons of carbon out of the atmosphere and instead of releasing it all back into the air, it's converted to a solid form and buried!!!

So by taking that SUV out for a joy-ride, you're actually REMOVING carbon from the atmosphere! Cool, huh?

  6. Electric cars create the fewest greenhouse gas emissions.  You can read a study about this here:

Unfortunately there won't be any affordable long-range high-speed EVs on the market for about another year.  At the moment the best is the ZAP Xebra, but it only has a top speed of 40 mph.

Beginning in late 2008 - early 2009, these will become available:

  7. The best way to reduce greenhouse emissions from cars is to use your car as little as possible, whatever kind it is.  An electric car would have the lowest climate impact.  Followed by biodiesel.  Then hybrids and other highly fuel efficient cars.  Diesel cars can be very fuel efficient but have historically been worse for other pollutants.  New diesel engines are cleaner.

  8. get that new car that only emits like.. water. i dont know what its called.

    google it.

  9. any kind of hybird thats it
