  1. DONT BUY A CAR. Save your money and buy a house which is going to appreciate!!! not depreciate. think wise and you will be ahead of the rest.

  2. from the perspective of another teenager...get something you love!! but be patient and take time to find it. look around and find a great deal. 50K on a car at the age of 16 isn't the greatest idea. although sometimes we all feel invincible sometimes, accidents do happen. i only spent 8,000 on my first car. it's used , but loooks brand new. half my friends got in an accident the day after they got their license and most of the accidents weren't their fault! one friend hydroplaned. another friend got hit by an idiot. someone ran a red light and hit someone elses car. things happen...so my suggestion, don't spend money on a car that's value depreciates as you drive off the lot. there are plenty of cute sporty cars available out there but PATIENCE is key. ohh and look for a car outside of the car lots...advertisements,etc. private sellers give wayyy better deals.

50k is better spent on other things in life, just try not to blow it allll on your car. believe me, you can be satisfied with a cute used car just as much as an expensive brand new sporty car. think about other things that are important when buying..gas milage.

if you don't spend all your money in one place...and decide not to invest that money into college funds, books, room and board, moving out, or anything else...then put that money towards the car you bought, supp it up. personalize it. paint it hott pink or electric blue. add a sound system that you can hear a mile away. but just make rational decisions. and think through carefully.

  3. You should get a 1976 Buick Le Sabre 4 door sedan....and some spelling lessons. I agree that you have no room to be saying what a good driver you are. Get back with us after you get some time behind the wheel...say about 42 years, like me. (Then you can brag)

  4. Nissan s13 silvia. You would thank me if you bought one, great for modifying or drive as a stocky!

  5. I am not doubting that your not a good driver, so please don't take this as that......

    BUT

Most NEW, not BAD, drivers experience some type of collision with in the first few years.  Most thankfully are minor, fender benders and such, but regardless it wouldn't be worth buying an expensive car just to do some collision repair on.

My advice:  a civic (2 door)or an eclipse.  They both look sporty and cool.  A Plus:  repairs will not be as much as the actual car costs!

Another Plus:  You will have some extra spending $$ to style the car to your liking - new designer leather seats, an awesome radio system, a new paint job with a color that no once else has....things like that can really make your car and your personal style stand out!

Congrats on getting your license and first car!  :)

  6. Girl, I know exactly how you feel when it comes to choosing a car...these people on here are really kind of rude...if you have the money to spend on your first car, do it. I am 19, and when I started driving at 16, my mom bought me a used mazda 6,yellow, and it was great because I did actually get into a little fender bender with it. I was young, and I didn't care about my stuff. For graduation, my mom bought me a NEW car, a 2007 Subaru WRX STi....$35,000. If you want something fast, go with a Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500.That is a V8. My STi is a single turbo, and it does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. Another car that is similar is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo. Both of these cars are manual transmissions.Well, actually the mitsubishi is now a paddle shift if you get the top of the line one(the MR). If you like 2 seater convertibles, I can honestly recommend the Honda S2000. My boyfriend drives one,(they are manuals also) and they are quick, sporty, convertible, and just all around fun to drive, they are $35K. Hope you have fun car shopping, I know I did!!!

  7. well i would not buy a new car because youre just starting out and what if you wreck it so whatever you get get a used car.

  8. Your 16! just get a car for under 5,000 that way if any thing happens  to it it wont matter so much... Wait to you are of your P's before you go and buy an expensive of car. At least that way you will have a little bit of experience...

You don't want a turbo or V8 without any experience...

  9. a 16 yearold shouldnt have their own car (im 16 and im saying that), but if they must...it should be no more than 3 or 4k. and shut up, your not a good driver...your 16 so your new to driving! you probably will mess up, and do you want to total a $50k car?!? its a stupid move...learn on a beater then when your an excellent driver, and have figured out your priorities decide how you want to spend the 50k. not sure how you managed to save 50k though..unless your some high class rich family or a drug dealer.

  10. Ok  i know allot of ppl might say.. "get a civic or get this or that... but truth if u want sumthing with power & a turbo.. go get like a 98 fire bird or wait for the new challenger.... trust me.. your love it

  11. Buy whatever you want.

If you buy a V8 or a Turbo for your first car chances are you wont have it long to enjoy, and all the money you saved up will be a twisted heap of metal.

There are two things that you should know about. Experience. Which you have nil

Temptation. Which you will have lots of.

Buy a small, sporty, safe 4cyl and learn to drive. How do you know you are a good driver? How long have you driven for??

  12. Honestly as young as you are i wouldn't get a sports car (not saying you would not be responsible i'm sure you're a good driver :) just because your age and  the type of car you get plays a part in how much your insurance will cost plus with gas prices you're probably better off getting a toyota or honda or a car that get's good gas mileage.

  13. You should just get a decent used car with an automatic transmission and spend as little on it as possible. You can get a nice used car for $3500 to $4000 dollars. This will help you learn to drive without risking an accident in a very expensive new car. Chances are you'll get into a wreck in the first 3 years of driving, this is true for most all drivers, so just get something to get you from here to there and is good on gas. A ford Focus, Hyundai Elantra, Chevy Cobalt, something like that.

  14. First off, I would NEVER EVER EVER buy a 16 year old a 50,000.00 car!!!!

A cobalt, civic, focus is a good student vehicle. Of course if you're going to drop 50K might as well get a Hummer H2!!!

  15. If you buy a car with a turbo, or sports car with a v-8, insurance payments are going to kill you at your age. Buy a beater until you grow up. You think you know how to drive but you really dont have a clue until you get some experience.

  16. Okay, hmmmm

I would get one where you can put your top down

Make it whatever your favorite color is

  17. don't listen too any of these people if you want a car with a v8 buy a mustang roush or saleen mustang their around 50,000 and they have a supercharged v8,  might as well get what you want,  but i would recommend taking care of it

  18. a non existant one.......stay off the road!

  19. I will tell you the same thing I told my daughter.  First thing...you do not need a V8 or a turbo.  Your inexperience will only lead to trouble and tickets because of the increased horsepower. 4 cylinder of 6 cylinder only.  You don't want to go out and drop a huge amount of money into one, because chances are (do to the inexperience thing) you are going to be in an accident, and your insurance, which will already be high, will skyrocket.  Find a decent used car a few years old, that you can pay cash for and carry liability insurance on,  learn to maintain it properly, and then get a new one in a few years if you want.

(My daughter started out with a used '90 Mustang (4 cyl) in decent shape, then bought herself a Chevy Cobalt when she turned 19.  She learned a lot about responsible car ownership from that old Mustang.)

  20. 50 K ??? ask your driver what he prefers...oh jeeves...
