Toyota, Vauxhall & Ford are not options for me.

Passed driving test not too long ago, have been driving husband's Honda Civic but would like to buy my own.

  1. Well, their are a ton of choices out there. So you've ruled out Toyota, Ford,  and we don't have Vauxhall's here but I believe that's GM right?

    Compact: Volkswagen Rabbit. Nissan Sentra.

    Mid Sized: Nissan Altima:

  2. you should get a Subaru i have a 83' Subaru with 217k miles and runs like new!  and i don't baby my cars! i have heard story's of Subaru's still running that have 600k miles and i believe it ! do some research, you will find very little story's of problems with a Subaru, but look at the yahoo questions, at the bottom where it says how many questions there  is on that car make, Subaru has the lowest! they are the best on the road!

  3. Not a honda...garbage. Honda is the first thing you'll hear but don't get one. The pontiac g6 and chevy cobalt are both really great cars right now though

  4. Hate to say it but Accord or Camry. I like to go American, but they're just not as good.

  5. Mini Cooper

you can buy mine off me £9500 ono :)

  6. What about a Mazda 3? Small, fuel efficient and great to drive.

  7. I would prefer Honda or Toyota.

I think - you should also compare insurance quotes for these cars before buying one, for example here: http://carinsurance.yoll.net

First time drivers usually have much higher rates than others. And it depends from car.

  8. Which, the consumer magazine got reports on 90,000 cars and found the seven most reliable makes were all Japanese.

If you can't go for Toyota, then Mazda, Honda, Dhaihatsu, Mitsubishi would all be good choices

They are certainly reliable and keep their value.

  9. Definatly a used Subaru, perhaps Liberty or Impreza (not the WRX). They are cheap, very easy to maintain, bulletproof and very very good value.
