What type of cd can I use to burn music onto?

I tried using the one that you can record tv on using a dvd player, but either i'm doing something wrong or i can't use this type of cd. please help!

Any audio CD that you can get at like Office Max or Best Buy

you must use CD-R, CD+R OR CD+RW CD-RW any capacity and make sure you play it on your computer 1st then try playing it on other electronic companents like portable cd player or dvd player that reads CD's etc.  good luck hope that woks
