  1. A PPL(private pilot license), 25 hours solo and atleas 15 hours duel. You need 40-45 flying hours for your ppl.

  2. as long as it meets far part 103 and you live in America you do not need ay certificate whatsoever! You wouldnt even need training

  3. This and lots more at the Expiramental Aircraft Association site.  www.eaa.org

  4. I would also add that if the airplane meets the LSA rule, you only need a Light Sport certificate.  Sport Pilot cert only takes 20 hours to complete.  Otherwise, like someone already stated, you need the same certificate (and be current) as if it were a type certified aircraft.  (i.e. single engine land, multiengine, etc)

Check out the link below.  Lots of kits/experimentals and certified airplanes meet the light sport rule.

  5. The same certificate that you need to fly a factory-built aircraft of that type.

A private Pilot certificate will suffice. Singe-engine or multi-engine endorsements as needed for your particular aircraft.

The exception is for ultralight aircraft (less than 254 lbs). You can fly these aircraft with no pilot certificate at all.
