What type of cloud os this? PLEASE, be specific.?

I need to figure out what type of cloud this is. I keep arguing between clumulus and altocumulus. Maybe im wrong, it may be a different cloud. please give me a souce and i could check it out. thanks!

  1. It is a cumuloform type of cloud.  It appears to be "fair weather" cumulus.  I cannot tell it's altitude in the photo, but if it is about say around 15,000 feet above ground, it could be termed alto cumulus (Alto simply meaning "middle").

  3. These are commonly known as "fair weather cumulus" as already stated. They do not have flat bases because these particular clouds appear to be in the early stages of development. Usually, such clouds later obtain a flat base and a slightly rounded/puffy top.
