What type of computer do i need if i want to record DVD's onto my computer?

I just want to have them in my computer instead of carrying the discs around.

What twincreektaz said is good, but keep in mind the amount of storage space required to do this is enormous.  Most DVD's will take up 8GB or more of space on your hard drive.  10 typical DVD's will eat up close to 90GB's of space.  You most likely will not be able to carry much of your DVD collection on your hard drive.
