  1. You need antifreeze coolant and yes walmart carries it, so does other automotive places like people who change tires and do radiator services.

  2. "Toyota Super Long Life Coolant” is used in your Toyota vehicle at factory fill. In order to avoid technical problems, only use “Toyota Super Long Life Coolant” or similar high quality ethylene glycol based non−silicate, non−amine, non−nitrite, and non−borate coolant with long−life hybrid organic acid technology.  (Coolant with long−life hybrid organic acid technology is a combination of low phosphates and organic acids.) Do not use plain water alone.

Please contact your Toyota dealer for further details.

What this probably means is that your car uses Dex-Cool. But of course, they always have their own brand that they recommend, just like the printer manufacturers always recommend that you use "only genuine XXXX brand ink".

I would recommend you do two things. First, look at your Anti-Freeze to see what color it is. If it's pink, it's probably just Dex-Cool. Then copy down the chemical properties from the Owners Manual as listed above, and see if Wal-Mart has something that meets those requirements.

If still in doubt, call your local Toyota dealer's service or parts department, and ask them if "Toyota Super Long Life Coolant” isn't the same as Dex-Cool.

  3. You can buy premixed 50% coolant at walmart.

  4. you need the green anti-freeze like prestone and yes wal-mart sells it and so do auto zone and advance.

  5. Some of the coolants they put in the car at the factory are pretty advanced - call the dealer's shop and ask the service writer if the coolant you add will have to be special.

That said, most of the coolants on the market can do the job well enough - I'm just concerned about there being any proprietary lubricants in the factory coolant for your water pump.
