I have this car that I love and my H got into an accident with it. He has kneck pain and shoulder pain. ICBC says he has coverage for his injuries even though its his fault but it sounded like they only cover receipts he would hand in. Not an actual claim. Were in BC. canada so this is not a states quetion.

  1. I am answering from the States, but why would he be entitled to monetary compensation for injuries he sustained because of his own negligence?  That would be silly.  Everyone would be causing accidents if  if they received monetary compensation.

Sounds as if he has medical payment coverage which pays for his medicals regardless of fault similar to US' medical payment and/or PIP coverage.

Consider filing an injury claim against the other party.  The comparative negligence rules may allow him to recover a percentage of the potential settlement.

  2. wait.. are you really suggesting he should get money ABOVE medical bills for an at fault accident?!?  Then we all would be running our cars into trees silly. of course you are not entitled to pain and suffering for an at fault accident lol

  3. I think you should address your question, to the ICBC agent who renews your insurance every year

He/She will explain what ICBC covers and what it doesn't for at fault accidents.

  4. as we have no fault insurance in BC he will be covered for anything BC medical won't , but he will have to submit bills to them to get the payment, most doctors will submit the bills for him or not charge up front so he shouldn't  have a lot of out of pocket expenses. hope this answers your question.
