What line of credit could I expect to get with a 636 Experian (632 Equifax, 629 TransUnion) score and have a salary of $42K a year?

Would this be sufficient to rent a 1BR apartment?

  1. It should be fine to rent... unless you are in a high end area. I live in CA and as long as you don't have an eviction or anything, you should be set. GOOD LUCK!

  2. Below Average Credit Score will not help.  However your salary should suffice for a rental under 1k a month.  As for line of credit, none, unless you have collatoral.

  3. You have a decent score. You should try to increase that score even higher and easiest way to do that is by getting a credit card and keeping it forever. Remember to always pay the balance in full otherwise you might get yourself into debt which will eventually hurt your score. I find the below site very useful. You can even apply for a credit card and get approved instantly.

  4. i'm sure it would be.

what other bills do you have?

How much per month is the rent?

if the rent is 625 per month, then i'm sure they would take you.

  5. OMG, yes!  You are really out of touch dude!  My husband's and my combined credit ratings would not equal yours!!!!  And we make 1/2 what you do!  We are renting a huge 3 bdrm apartment.  Anyway, even for those occasional landlords that DO check your credit (most don't), they are mainly looking for outstanding judgements against you for unpaid rent or damage to a rental property.  Sheesh.
