2 ANSWERS

  1. A Doctor of Optometry degree

  2. In the US, at least 2 years of undergraduate education at an accredited college that includes courses in English comp, psychology, statistics, calculus, biology, microbiology, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry (all science courses must have lab components).

The OAT exam has to be taken (Optometry Aptitude Test).

The optometry degree requires 4 years at a college of optometry.

So you can become an optometrist in the US in as little as 6 years, and the only degree you will earn is your Doctor of Optometry.
