What type of dirtbike is suitable for a beginner?

i have ridden a few dirtbikes before just for fun with my friends and now i really want to buy one of my own..what type is most suitable?

hey lol i am with you brother!!  well i am just getting my first dirtbike and i am getting a 100cc yamaha/ honda 4 stroke.

i am chosing a 100cc because it is for my size and weight  i am 5'6 and i weigh 120 lbs. so if you are more less then that get a bigger bike or smaller bike. also get a 4 stroke for your first bike because a 2 stroke has way to much kick for a beginner

whats ur height and weight?? that'll definitely help.

i agree 4 strokes are for u, 2 strokes have quite a snap in throttle and can be hard to handle for beginners. any F-class motox bike or enduro-style off road bike would be best.

I started out on a Honda XR100.. It was great! the 4 stroke engine was perfect and the low-ish power helped me alot with learning how to start it cause I popped the clutch quite a few times haha... I also really liked the height =)
