My husband is a soon to be Marine. He graduates basic training from Parris Island in October. I'm not really sure what he would like to see me in. The weather will most likely be hot and humid since its in S.C. So I don't want to over dress, but at the same time look respectable. I've heard that alot of girls dress "hootchie." =] I would appreciate the help.

  1. wear a white sun dress, no bra, thong panties and sandals! it will sure get everybobody's attention!

I believe October will be a bit nippy!

  2. just wear everday regular clothes. Maybe a little on the nicer side but there shouldnt be a reason to get fancy.

  3. Most of the above answers are good.  You can wear something very nice and be s**y without being overexposed.  As someone else said a nice sundress would be great.  A lot depends on your personality.  If you want to just wow your husband and don't care what other people think or that other people are looking at you then by all means wear something s**y, but not hootchie.  If you'd rather be comfortable then wear something comfortable.  He's going to be excited to see you no matter what.  But do wear something nice, not sweat pants, torn clothes, etc.  Not that you would anyway but just remember that your appearance will reflect on him.  To my then boyfriend, now husband's graduation I wore a modest tank top (no bra showing) and knee length skirt.

  4.   Casual yet proper dress, and you can never go wrong !  Not too much skin nor too much cleavage, and neither will be embarrassed.  He will have lotsa time to see more of you, if off base liberty is offered that day!

  5. A nice pair of jeans and a shirt that is flirty but not trashy. I would also bring a light jacket just in case its a little chilly...And your right about alot of girls looking hootchie...your man knows what you got so why show the world lol...Good luck!!!

  6. Ok heres my opinion, take it for what it's worth. I remember seeing my wife for the first time after basic. I also remember all the stories from the guys I sent to basic as a recruiter.

The real truth is, it won't matter what you wear, your husband would be elated to see you if you were covered in mud. Wanna be safe, wear something casual that you will be comfortable in.

Here is the fun part. Are you a little daring? Wanna drive your husband and 200 other Marines nuts (and they will all love every second of it)? Show off what mama gave you...just a little. Like you said, not like a hootchie mama, but I'm here to tell you if every guy coming out of basic had the choice we would like to see you (our own wives) dressed a little s**y. Besides, he is proud of you and you look good :-)

  7. dont dress like a s***k...reason being..your husband wont be the only set of eyes that hasn't seen a woman in 12 weeks looking at you.

Wear something light and flowy. I would go with a knee length sun dress with wedges, a big floppy hat and a basket of his fave cookies or pastries.

keep your self covered, trust me! you dont want roudy n00bs tring to get wth you and there to be a fight. But, whatever you wear, your husband will be gratefull to see you!! <3 good luck!!
