  1. Different nomenclature for different armies: is this what he would wear to a Commanding Officer's Parade? In that case and assuming the wedding is before 4:00, silk afternoon "tea" dress with pearls and high heels, wrist-length gloves if you want. After 6:00, cocktail-length formal dress, no gloves, you may though wear one of those cute little formal hats.

Or, is this what he would wear to a mess dinner? If so, and assuming the wedding is after 6:00, then you should wear full-length evening dress, and you can even wear elbow-length gloves.

Here's a hint. Imagine the last time you saw a very senior officer (like, maybe a former commander-in -chief)  wearing that uniform -- what was his spouse wearing? Follow her example.

  2. My brother wore his Marine Dress Blues to my wedding and his girlfriend at the time wore a cute sundress.  Just have the colors be complimentary (no white or very little), no shorter than right above the knees and if you are worried about showing too much skin, you could bring along a shawl, wrap or cardigan to wear over it.  Good luck.

  3. Wear something bright and happy, because Army Dress is a pretty gross color

  4. A semi-formal dress in a lighter shade of his uniform jacket, and jewelry matching his insignia and devices.  That is, if he's USAF, a lighter blue, with silver(y) jewelry; if Army, a lighter green with gold(-colored) jewelry, etc.

  5. class a's are the military dress uniform. you dont need to change anything on your dress.

  6. Don't ever wear white at a wedding unless you're the bride.  Other than that, I would say any simple, above-the-knee (but not too short) cocktail dress is fine.  Class A's would be the equivalent of a dark suit, so you should be fine with that.

  7. Um, what's Class A's?  Do you mean tux?  What time is the wedding-day or night?  We need more info, do you know if it's outside?  In a tent?  Etc. those questions can help you decide what to wear.
