What type of engine can i get away with to pull a 7500 LB Travel Trailer?

I am thinking of getting a new truck to pull my 7500 lb Trailer. I have been browsing some car lots and i am wondering what the least engine capacity.

  1. probably the least would be a 350 [Chevy] or 351 [Ford] in a 3/4 ton. Or Dodge Hemi.

    Now here is something you might want to think about. I know several people that have that Ford V-10; ten cylinder engine and they all swear they get better gas mileage with it than they did their 350's and 351's about half had Chevys and half had Ford before buying a V10 Ford.



    But anyway,that heavy if you are going to be doing a lot of pulling I'd go with a diesel. Either the Dodge Cummings or the Ford turbo charged power stroke.
