  1. wheat,soy beans

  2. there are many types of  farming done in ontario. mainly livestock. there are things like dairy, beef, pork, chicken, goat, sheep, and some other animals that aren't that common. Some people do cash crops, like barley, wheat, beans, corn, ect, and others to produces, like our fruits and veggies. in northern ontario there isn't much farming done because the ground isn't that fertile and the growing season is short. it is mostly furs, fishing, and other things such as that. most produce farms are found around the Toronto area, closer the the most southern tips of Ontario, and livestock farming is found mostly in South Eastern Ontario, around the lakes.

  3. Well, I won't go into any personal info, but Cambellford is the largest town in my area. It's ruffly two hours east of Toronto, in the Northumberland Hills. Cambellford is a small farming town with population of 5000-6000. They have a farmer's market, home hardware, tim hortons, No Frills(groucery store), IGA, Canadian Tire. It's a semi-developed town but still has the old small town feel. The best pizza in the world is found at Appollo's Pizzeria.

The small local farm I work at, is dedicated to working the land and raising animals the good old fashioned way, strickly organically. We raise rare breeds of animals, such as tamworth pigs, columbian rock chickens, and shaver cattle. We have just bought some brittish black pigs, which is really cool. As for other farms around, they mainly grow cash crops, such as corn, soy beans, ect. and use chemicals. Unfortunately I've seen my share of farmers and niebours go out of business, organic and non. Farm sales have been sadly regular. Last week at the sales barn, a blond cow when for 40cent a pound. Apart from than, The geography is clay loam which is the best soil concidered to grow plants. The area has gentile sloping hills with patches of forest. It is quite a pleasant place to live.
