What type of file is used to watch videos on phone avi, mp4....?

so i have a samsung blackjack (not the second version) and i downloaded a video and put it on it but it wont play its in .avi format, what can i do??

google a free 3gp converter and convert it to 3gp from AVI.. does on your computer, then put it on your blackjack
