  1. Betta's would like the heater but it is not necessary try putting a adjustable lamp over the tamp withs its top cover off to make the water warmer if that's the case bettas need a watertemperaturee of 72 degres to 80 degres i hope i helped :)

  2. A betta would not require a heater.

  3. Any tropical fish will need a heater.  These are fish that are native to South America and Asia and are used to temperatures of 76-82 degrees.  Fish such as BETTAS which are native to SOUTHERN ASIA or GUPPIES which are native to TRINIDAD.  The only fish that do not need a heater are coldwater fish, such as the kind of fish you might find in rivers or streams in northern countries.  Usually these are minnows.  Goldfish are coldwater fish, but they are large pond fish and need much more than 10 gallons.  Some good cold water fish for a 10 gallon tank are white cloud minnows, rosy red minnows and dace minnows.  Most other coldwater minnows are the fry of fish that grow too large for a 10 gallon tank, such as trout or bass.

  4. if you live somewhere that doesn't get colder than 72 degrees then you don't need a heater. or herte is a list of fish. african dwarf frogs. african clawed frogs.(but you can't keep fish with these they will eat them and you can probably only keep one.) white cloud minnows. plecos, goldfish, bettas. and if you have a big enough tank, sunfish, and bullheads northerns and muskies, which both need huge tanks

  5. Any non-tropical or cold fish can go without a heater.  Some are gold fish and a betta.  HOpe this helps!

  6. Hi,

A heater is a very important part of the aquarium if you are going to have tropical fish. The ideal water temperature for a Betta is between 24-28º C (75-82° F) Betta fish do need a heater to thrive. http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/bettafis...

  7. You'd probably need one for the candiru - they are from the amazon:

  8. You do not need a heater for goldfish, guppies and betas. A heater is always good to have with any fish.
