What type of flower is this?

Question

the leaves are round in shape and have a dark pink/red color in with the green. It has a thick stalk, and from it a taller shoot with tiny green leaves and a cluster of dainty pink and white flowers.

It was given to me, i have seen them before in greenhouses and such. I need to know what it is and where to plant it (indoor or outdoor) if it is annual or perennial, and if an outdoor plant does it like low light, full sun, high moisture etc....
