  1. fruits, vegetables, eggs.....

  2. Dry Pasta is a cheap, wholesome food that will last for a while, fresh pasta needs to be eaten quickly before it goes stale. Potatoes can be fairly cheap and are also quite healthy. If you keep things like mayo in the fridge, then it wont expire quickly.

  3. There's always the college staples of canned tuna and ramen noodles...And for healthy food you can go for whatever fruit or veggie is in season as they are usually the cheapest and tastiest. What will really cut down on the food budget is only drinking water. Sodas and juices are incredibly expensive when compared to tap water. Also, substitute dried beans and grains for meat to get your protein. They tend to be cheaper considering how long a bag of beans and carton of oatmeal (rolled oats not instant) can last in comparison to a pound of ground meat.

  4. tv dinners

    and cereal

  5. I know where u are coming from! I have to do this all the time!

Hit the reduced meat section, I find meat in there that looks perfect for a few bucks. Burger family packs for $4 make 4 meals,(break it down and freeze), pork chops $4, 2 or 3 meals, chicken thighs n legs $6 prolly 8 or 9 meals with rice or noodles or in casseroles a can of pet milk 2 for $1(dollar store), sticks of margarine.75, eggs $2.

U need burger, big bag of chicken.

Prolly  $20 bucks for meat  and a big bag of taters, and $20 bucks of dollar store food.

You can get rice$1, beans$1, flour $1, peanut butter $1, bread $1, spaghetti $1 n sauce $1.50, macaroni, ramen noodles 6 FOR $1, u can get so much in there!

Now you've chicken noodles, chicken rice casserole, burger rice skillet, spaghetti, meat in your ramen, tater soup, fried taters, mashed taters, hamburger steaks, chicken salad, more soup! U CAN DO IT!!!!

  6. When I was close to broke, I always went to ALDI's to get cheap food, especially ramen noodles (great with cheese and ketchup) and potatoes.

  7. the cheap and very healthy cabbage! lasts forever in the fridge, is so good for your health, i love to fry it until it gets abit brown, when it gets so sweet and yummy. i also shred some carrots, or a sweet potatoe, make coleslaw at a moments whim. or for a few more dollars, buy a pac of ground beef, cook some rice, cook the chopped up cabage, brown beef, mix it all together-lazyway cabbage rolls.when you brown the beef, use a dollop of healthy olive oil.enjoy!
