  1. Mineral make-up is definitely much better FOR your skin and it's more forgiving in regards to what color you choose.  It's different in the way you put it on though, it goes on in light layers.  The more you apply, the more it'll cover if you need good coverage.  Just a tip when shopping for any make-up:  If you get home and don't like the color you chose, keep your receipt and take it back!  Almost every store will let you exchange or return make-up because they know it's sometimes hard to find the right color!

  2. MAC

  3. Usually if you want to find the right color for your face you go to a beautician at a makeup counter and they will help you out. For your skin type you can actually use any type of foundation. But mineral make-up seems to be all the rage so you should give it a try.

  4. darling, obviously u have oily skin type.to choose a good make up first u have to know well about your skin.

since i have same skin's type as u do,i can share with u my experience.

for foundation/blush/eyeshadow/bronzer or anything u put on your face, use in POWDER form.it absorbs oil and can be easily retouch up anytime.liquid, mousse, cream is a big NO NO for oily skin.not only they make your skin appear oily-er than it does, they also make your pores seem larger than life(eww, hideous!) and you are prone to break out.plus they have no applicators to apply.would u use your hand to apply it to your face without knowing how many bacteria can transfer from your hand to the foundation then your face?

i use Za foundation for oily skin but it only available in Asia.u can start by using any mineral based product.like Bare essence, prescriptive, etc.i don't know much about these brands because they are not available in Malaysia but surely they works based on what i read in beauty forum.

i went to drugstore and a girl there helped me to find the right colour by applied the foundation at my jawline.if u can't see any difference in colour of your skin and the foundation, then that's your foundation!don't ever try to find the right tone by applying it at the back of your hand!that is soo wrong!your hand may be darker or fairer than your face.and u will end up buying the wrong tone of foundation and waste of money since you have to buy another foundation to blend in to match your skin tone.

and before you wear foundation,do apply some anti imperfection moisturizer/toner to tighten the pore so less oil produced.i use clean and clear toner and sometime Garnier daily anti imperfection moisturizer if i spending the day in air cond.and to set the foundation,i use Maybelline mini expert loose powder.oh yes, always use loose powder to set your makeup.good makeup starts with a good skin and good skin starts with a good daily beauty routine.

good luck sweetie.nobody is ugly, only the lazy one.

  5. Clinique makes foundation and powder for combination skin, which is what you have. Just go to the counter, and a sales rep will match you up with your perfect color :o)

  6. Try puritycosmetics.co.uk. It is really good!

  7. OMG same skin you have to use moisturizer then powder foundation this one is the best worth the money L oreal true minerals it help your skin with vitamins.

  8. i have similar skin!  except my chin gets oily too...

I also recently went into Sephora because I wanted to try out Bare minerals. A makeup artist put Bare Minerals on one side of my face, and Cargo Blu Ray on the other--and I couldn't BELIEVE what the Cargo stuff did. She put on Cargo's matte primer before she put on the foundation, and you can apply it where you need it, you don't have to cover your whole face, but it keeps you from being shiny!

I was surprised that the pressed powder only came in one shade, but it actually works perfectly! i don't know how, it's supposed to have these light adjusting pigments (same with the blush)...It's made for high definition filming, so you know it looks good because those cameras let nothing slip. It's pricey, but RIGHT NOW you can get the entire collection (matte primer, foundation, blush, lip gloss and mascara) for $60. (online @ sephora)  you'll look just like the blu ray model.  i kid you not.

I would recommend going to Sephora--they know everything and can help you find the perfect one for you (and you get to see how it looks)--but try Cargo's Blu Ray! it's AMAZING.

  9. Go to a MAC store, they have outlets in malls and they have sections in department stores like at NORDSTROM'S, and they will totally sit down and help you out. What type of foundation you use will  be based on many things  like what skin type you have, what type of coverage you need, they daily activities you do while you are wearing makeup.

Also, no one  color  will ever be exactly right so try and get too shades  one for the winter  when you will be paler and one for the summer when you are more bronze.

  10. For young persons, and you have a combination skin like the majority of us. And it's not necessary to use a heavy make up. I'd go with mineral powder make up. Believe me, finding a perfect color isn't easy at all, nnormallyyou need two colors to work with. Find an Ulta, or independent cosmetic stores, if you can. And try out different kinds, and brands, or ask the sales persons to assist you. Dept stores can over whelm you. There are too many counters, and expensive too. Good luck !

  11. I would use powder.  it's heard to be cheaper and easier to take off than others.  If you want darker skin don't go for extremilly(sp) dark. just go a few shades so it isnt completely obvious that youre wearing make up.i use my own shade because im tan enough.hope my advise is best.
