  2. yeah Pyrex! It does not break as much cause it is made from thermal shock resistant glass.

    Glass is Silicon dioxide with lots of impurities.

    When a significant amount of impurities have been removed, it will pass UV rays.  Add boron as the chief alloy and you get significant changes is physical characteristics.
