I've been looking around some websites and i've especially been looking at the nikebauer pads (of course goaliemonkey picks now to not work) but I'm really clueless on which kind would suit my style of play best.

  1. The old Bauer Supreme, the Vaughn Epic 8000, the Heaton H10 (contact them and they will make you a pair)...anything with conventional knee rolls will work fine.  You just want to avoid the flat-face stuff.

  2. Maybe some pads that dont have like a big ark/bed in them at the top because thoes are better for butterly goalies. Humm old used pads are like what i said good luck finding one!

  3. depends on your budget, level of play, and if you play ice and/or roller. but I have heard Simmons makes good pads for intermediate play.

my Franklin 9200 (modeled after the Louisville Xhale pad Hasek used to wear in Buffalo) is great for the hybrid style I play and have withstood shots from D1 guys, ex-NHLers including HOFer Bobby Clarke, QMJHL and all the way down to beer leaguers in Texas
