Looking to spend about $400. I play knock offs right now. Been looking at Taylor Made R7 Irons since I tend to push my shots right when I hit 3-4 iron. They are on sale for 399 at local shop

  1. I can't recommend anything without knowing what level of player you are.  High handicapper should go with the TaylorMade r7 draw.  Mid handicapper should go with the Cleveland cg Gold.  They're a new set, but you may find a demo set some where.

  2. Hey, the best advice I can give is:  If you are an above 10 handicapper, I would recommend the Callaway Fusion Irons, standard steel shaft, you can find em on Ebay fairly cheap.  If you are a sub 10 handicapper, pony up and pay for a nice set of forged style irons, such as the Nike Forged, Callaway X-Forged, or a blade style Titleist Iron.  I agree with Golf Blogger, get rid of the 3 and 4 iron.  I switched last year to the Callaway X-Hybrid 14* and 24*, easy to hit, hard to shape, but they get the job done nicely.  Not a big Taylor Made fan, I would recommend Callaway for the best overall performance from an iron, and you can find them cheap enough on Ebay.

  3. it doesn't matter what brand.  figure out which one u hit best.  i would try a set of cavity back irons cuz u get more  control and they are easy to hit.

  4. well it really depends on how good of a player you are. i suggest going to the local golf pro and asking for there help.

  5. Ultimately, the best thing to do is to get fitted.

As for the 3 and 4 irons, you might try replacing those clubs with hybrids.

  6. Buy the ones that look and feel good to you.  They are all good, but the best ones for you are the ones that you like the most.
